ü  Iambic pentameter is a type of metrical line in traditional poetry and verse drama. It describes the rhythm of the words, which is called "feet" on behalf of syllables. The word "trapeze" is an example of an iambic pair of syllables.
ü  Free verse is an open form of poetry. It tends to follow the rhythm of natural speech. Free verse displays some elements of form. For example: Donald Hall goes as far as to say that "the form of free verse is as binding and as liberating as the form of a poetry.
ü  A rhyme scheme is the pattern of rhyme between lines of a poem or song. It is usually referred to by using letters to indicate which lines rhyme. For example: Clerihew: "A,A,B,B"
ü  Deus ex machina is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly resolved by the unexpected new event, character, ability or object, bringing the tale to a happy ending, or as a comedic device. An example is Euripides' Medea, a dragon-drawn chariot sent by the sun god conveying Medea, who has just committed murder, away from her husband Jason to the safety.


ü  A chorus is a musical ensemble of singers, who perform in one or many locations such as a church, opera house, or school hall. For example, some American Protestant groups perform in Eastern Orthodox churches.
